Louie Marini, Bassist

Louie Marini has been on the Chicago music scene for the past fifteen years.

He has toured with Joe Kelly and the legendary Sam Lay, and he has played with a host of Chicago jazz greats: Lin Halliday, Ira Sullivan, Carl Leukauffe, Robert Berry, Chris Foreman, Bob Dogen, Johnny Frigo, etc.

Louie appeared in Carroll O'Connor's last movie, Return to Me, with the Alan Gresik Swing Shift Orchestra; co-founded the Hot Club of Chicago with Alfonso Ponticelli in December of 1995; and for the past five years, he has performed weekly at the Green Mill jazz club in Chicago.

He has worked with Chicago's own <a href="http://www.jakelabotz.com/">Jack La Botz</a> at Rose's Blues Lounge and Buddy Guy's Legends.

He has recorded with Johnny Frigo, Swing Shift Orchestra, Peter Dames, Dwain Story, Peaches Staten, Ron Cooper, Swing Gitan, Kimberly Gordon, Nicole Kestler, and the Hot Club of Chicago.

Louie enjoys grilling sausages on the back porch while listening to the original Hot Club of France recordings on 78 rpm's.
