Jason Miller, Rhythm Guitar

Jason Miller began studying guitar at the age of nine. By the time he was 18, while playing in a speed metal group around Chicago, Jason sold an original composition/recording that aired nationally for the Nintendo Corporation. The next four years were spent studying music composition at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Upon graduating, Jason moved back to Chicago where he played in various Django-style groups, as well as with straight ahead jazz combos, before meeting Alfonso Ponticelli. A couple of months after Swing Gitan returned from the 2004 Djangofest in Samois, France, Jason joined the group.

In addition to performing at stellar Chicago venues such as Green Mill, Hot House, Katerina's, and Martyr's, Jason and Alfonso performed at Djangofest New York in April 2005. It was here that he had the pleasure of playing with Stephane Wrembel (Djangofest New York's organizer) and Ritary and Herve Gaguenetti. Another wonderful night of music was in October 2005 during Djangofest Chicago with Robin Nolan Trio.

Jason currently teaches guitar and plays with FRACAS EXHIBITION, a quartet featuring Roberto Quinones (alto sax), Andy Bautista (drums), and Dan Kalnes (double bass).
